OBSERVANCE OF COMMUNAL HARMONY DAY IN TIRUVANATHAPURAM


Communal harmony day was observed in thiruvananthapuram division during lunch hour on 4th october,2010.Com P. Raju,General secretary of the union made the introductory speech.Com. Ganapathy krishnan,SZIEF vice president inagurated the meeting which was well attended by our comrades including pension comrades..In the inaugural speech,comrade Ganapathy mentioned about the increasing communalisation of our society with reference to the latest developments in the Ayodhya case and stressed the relevance of Gandhi"s teachings particularly the need for tolerance,maintaining communal amity,delinking religion with politics,swadeshi ideal,need for prohibition and more social reform in our country.Gandhi is deeply religious but is against the misuse of religion for political ends.The rulers nowadays speak more about Videshi than swadeshi..When we agitates to protect our institution from foreign invasion or globalisation,we are truly following the ideals of Mahatma.
