This year also SZIEF organised the convention at Tiruvarur on 25th Dec 2011, the day of VENMANI MARTYRS who had been killed by landlords 43 years ago. Venmani has become as a symbol for the struggle of the poor agricultural workers against feudal system but also for the struggle against caste oppression.
This year it is expected around 700 insurance employees converge in Venmani. At Tiruvarur a special meeting has been arranged for felicitating the victory of VACHATHI case in which around 250 officials of Forest, revenue were convicted by court for sexual atrocities including rape of Tribal women. Com P Shanmugam, Vice president of TNUEF and General secretary of Kisan sabha of TN who led the struggle for justice to tribal women in Vachathi is to deliver special address.
He would be honoured by Com C Krithiga prabha ( Salem) who visited Vachathi to greet women fighters of the village immediately after the pronouncement of judgement.
Our Madurai comrades who assisted legal team in paramakudi firing case,Vellore comrades involved in victorious Patta struggle at Gudiyatham for Dalit families and Coordinators of
Dr Ambedkar coaching centre for employment which gave training to around 1000 students for bank clerical examinations in last two months in ten centres also would be honoured. 17 Comrades who have been elected to the District leadership of TNUEF in various districts would be introduced in the convention.
